Four Stampede players were named All-Americans by Minor League Football News. They are:

RB Kevin Guillory (2nd Team)....Guillory becomes a 2-time All-American. The Iota, Louisiana native played college football at UMD. Guillory rushed 168 times for 972 yards (5.8 ave.) and scored 7 TD's in ten games. He also threw one pass for 85 yards and 1 TD.



DE Travis Larson (2nd Team)...The 6-3 220 lb. from Ashland, Wisconsin recorded 26 tackles, 12 sacks, 1 defensive TD and one fumble recovery in 10 games played. He was also voted to the All-NAFL team.

LB Tim Manns (2nd Team)...The Dallas, Texas native recorded 87 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 int, 2 passes defended, 4 forced forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in ten games played. He was voted a NAFL All-Star this season. Manns played college football at Moorhead State University.

CB Courtney Walters (2nd Team)...The Sebring, Florida native becomes a two-time All-american. Walters was also named All-NAFL in 2007. The 6-1 190 lb. corner recorded 25 tackles, 2 int's, and one defensive TD in ten games played. Walters played college football at Friends University.

Nine Superior Stampede football players were named to the 2007 North American Football League All-Star roster, as announced today by the NAFL.  They are:

LB Tim Manns
DT Kevin Szczyrbak
CB Courtney Walters

Stampede Players Honored!

Superior Stampede offensive lineman Korey Jazdzewski & running back Kevin Guillory were named national players of the week by Minor League Football News Saturday for the performance last week against the Cedar Valley Vikings.  Guillory led the Stampede with 169 yards and 2 TD's while Jazdzewski opened the holes to do so.

Stampede Players Honored!

Superior Stampede LB Nathaniel Coward & DE Travis Larson were honored today by Minor League Football News.  Coward, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida recorded 10 tackles, 1 fumble recovery, and one defensive TD in the Stampede's 41-0 shutout of the Minnesota Maulers on September 22nd, 2007.  Larson, of Ashland, Wisconsin recorded 2 tackles, 1 fumble recovery, and one defensive TD in the win.  Both were named National Players of the Week for the Central Region at their respective positions.

Stampede Players recognized Natonally!

Superior Stampede CB Courtney Walters and LB Tim Manns were named Minor League Football News' Players of the Weeks for the Central Region Friday for their performance last Sunday against the Minnesota Maulers. Walters, of Sebring, Florida recorded 3 tackles and returned one INT 44 yards for a TD, while Manns, of Dallas, Texas recored eight tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery, in the Stampede's 28-3win. Walters was a 2006 1st team MLFN All-American and coahes football at Fond Du Lac Tribal & Community College.

Fawcett and Manns Named Coach and Player of the Week!

Superior Stampede Head Coach Terry Fawcett and linebacker Tim Manns were honored this week by the Mid-America Football League.  Fawcett was named the MFL Coach of the week for the second time this season, while Manns was named MFL Player of the Week for his 8 tackles, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in the Stampede's 28-3 victory over the Minnesota Maulers on Sunday in Minnetonka

Farrell & Smith Named MLFN Players of the Week!

Superior Stampede LB Nick Farrell & WR Rob Smith were named national players of the week at their respective positions for the Central Region by Minor League Football News, as announced by MLFN today.  Farrell recorded 11 tackles and blocked the potential game-winning field goal with five seconds remaining, while Smith caught two passes for 100 yards in the Stampede's defeat of previously unbeaten Twin Cities Lumberjacks.

Guillory and Fawcett named Player and Coach of the Week!

Superior Stampede running back Kevin Guillory was named Mid-America Football League player of the week following his performance Saturday night in the Stampede's 16-14 win over previously undefeated and #15 nationally ranked Twin Cities Lumberjacks.  Guillory rushed 24 times for 142 yards and scored 1 TD.

Stampede Head Coach Terry Fawcett was named MFL Coach of the Week for the Stampede's 16-14 win over the previously undefeated Twin Cities Lumberjacks.  The was the third time since 2005 that Fawcett has received such honor.

Guillory Named Player of the Week Again!

Superior Stampede RB Kevin Guillory was named Minor League Football News National Player of the Week at running back for the Central Region for the second time in two games. The 2006 MFL Player of the Year rushed 16 times for 144 yards in the Stampede's 36-6 rout of the previously undefeated Northern Wiscosnin Thunderhawks of the Great Plains Football League in a non-league contest on June 23rd.

Guillory Named "Player of the Week"

Even a lightning-shortened game couldn't stop Stampede RB Kevin Guillory from picking up where he left off in 2006.  The 1st team All-American and 2006 Mid-America Football League Player of the Year was named Player of the Week at running back for the Central Region by Minor League Football News, as announced this morning.  Guillory, of Iota, Louisiana rushed 8 times for 62 yards & 2 TD's and also caught one pass for 14 yards and another score, all in the first half of the Stampede's 21-7 victory over the Chippewa Valley Predators in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on June 2nd.

Guillory, Farrell, Walters, and Dupree will be back in 2007, Asmundson has retired after 12 seasons, and Turcotte, Jr. will play for UW-Stevens Point!

The Superior Stampede held their end of season 2006 banquet on October 8th at the Green Mill in Duluth.  Dan Renfroe from The Fan 560 WEBC was Master of Ceremonies.  Food, fellowship, and teams awards were on the agenda.  The following awards were given:

Special Recognition Award-Coach Blair, for his three seasons of dedicated service to the promotion of minor league football (not pictured).

Superior Stampede running back Kevin Guillory (Iota, Louisiana) has been named the 2006 Mid-America Football League Player of the Year. Guillory, who played his college football at UMD following his senior season at Eden Prairie High School, was a unanimous selection. The 5-11 215 pound twenty-six year old, rushed 160 times for 1,114 yards (6.96 ave.), 10 TD's, 3 2-pt conversions, 14 catches for 75 yards and 1 TD. He was a three-time MFL player of the week, as well as a national player of the week once by Minor League Football News. Guillory is now eligible to participate in both the NAFL (North American Football League) and MFL All-Star games. The NAFL All-Star game will be November 12th in Orlando, Florida, and the MFL All-Star game will be December 9th at the Metrodome.

Superior Stampede middle linebacker Nick Farrell was named National Player of the Week at LB for the Central Region by Minor League Football News for his performance August 26th against the Minneapolis Lumberjacks. While the Stampede lost 29-28, Farrell was sound. Farrell recorded 13 tackles, 1 blocked field goal, 1 blocked punt for a TD, & 2 sacks in the game.

This marks the second time this year that Farrell was MLFN player of the week, and the ninth time a Stampede player was so honored. Farrell was a 2005 2nd team All-American. The Stampede host a MFL playoff game August 16th at 7:00 p.m. Opponent TBD.

Superior Stampede defensive end Dan Turcotte, Jr. was named National Player of the Week at his position by Minor League Football News for the Central Region for his play August 19th against the Iowa Threshers in West Des Moines. Turcotte, of Superior, recorded 5 tackles, 6 quarterback sacks, and returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown in the Stampede's 24-14 victory, in which the Stampede recorded 14 sacks as a team. Superior Stampede DB Courtney Walters & FB Joe Dupree were named MLFN National Players of the Week for the Central Region for their outstanding performances August 12th against the Twin Cities Titans.  Walters, of Miami, Florida recorded 5 tackles, 2 INT's, and 1 defensive TD for 24 yards, while Dupree (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) rushed 10 times for 43 yards and 3 TD's.

Kevin Guillory of the Superior Stampede was just named MFL Player of the Week for the week of August 12th, 2006 for his 14 carry 117 yard & 3 TD (one receiving) performance against the Twin Cities Titans. This is the 3rd time this season that Guillory has been named MFL player of the week! The Iota, Louisiana native played high school football for Eden
Prairie and college football at UMD.

Superior Stampede offensive lineman Garnet Asmundson (12th season), and LB Nick Farrell (2nd season) were honored by Minor League Football News as National Players of the Week at their respective positions for the Central Region for their play August 5th in the Stampede's 24-10 victory over the Midwest Pioneers. Asmundson's blocking contributed to the 245 rushing yards for the Stampede, while Farrell recorded 13 tackles & one pass deflection. Both players were 2005 MLFN 2nd Team All-Americans.

Superior Stampede QB Michael Spriggs was named the Minor League Football News Player of the Week at QB for the Central Region for his play in the July 29th victory over the Winona/Lacrosse Roughriders.  The Kansas City, Missouri native played professionally in both the NIFL & AF2.  Congratulations Michael!

Superior Stampede defensive back Darrin Dzuck was named National Player of the Week at DB for the Central Region by Minor League Football News for the week of July 15th, 2006 for his play against the Minnesota Valley Warriors, in which Dzuck had two INT's for 106 return yards and one TD in the 48-6 Stampede victory.  Dzuck joins RB Kevin Guillory as receiving this honor, and doing so in consecutive weeks!  Go to www.minorleaguefootballnews.com for more details!
