Superior Stampede
Matt Krivinchuk - Head Coach
Coack "K" is a 2000 graduate of Superior Senior High School. He played his high school football under Wisconsin Football Coaches Hall of Fame member, Tom Mestelle. Coach Krivinchuk began his coaching career after high school, joining Tom Mestelle's staff in Superior. He has worked with two other head coaches in his eight years at Superior (Brett Vesel & currently under Bob Demeyer). Coach Krivinchuk has served as a defensive coordinator seven out of his eight years, at the freshmen and junior varsity levels. Coach Krivinchuk joined the Stampede in 2006, as a linebackers coach. He was promoted to defensive coordinator later that spring. In 2007, Coach K's defense recorded 57 sacks, 19 Int's, 8 forced fumbles, 4 blocked kicks, and scored 6 touchdowns in 10 games played. The defense gave up an average of 5.7 points per game. He is the son of Paul & Jean Krivinchuk. He has two sisters, Heather & Danielle.
Dan Renfroe-Asst. Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator
Coach Renfroe joins the Stampede after 12 successful seasons coaching high school football, where his teams compiled a a record of 84-24 and his offenses averaged 37 points per game. He was a former standout player at QB/DB at Duluth Central, where he earned all-conference, all-area, and all tri-state honors. He has coached ten current Stampede players in high school, and is a former teammate of Stampede President, Marty Schubitzke. Renfroe was the 2006 "color" voice of the Stampede radio broadcasts.

Greg Schwartwoud-Offensive Line Coach
Coach S. graduated from Northfield High School in 1982. He played college football for the University of North Dakota, where he was voted the offensive MVP & selected as an All-Conference offensive tackle. Coach S. spent 1987-1988 with stints with the N.Y. Giants and the Phoenix Cardinals of the NFL, before becoming a member of the Arena Football League's 1990 champion, Detroit Drive. Coach S. also played for the 1991 expansion Orlando Predators of the AFL, and played on two AFL European Tours.
Jon Jazdzewski-Offensive Line Coach
Coach Jaski was a 1997-98 MN highschool all-state team Duluth Denfeld, a 3 year starter at U.M.D., a 3 year starter semi pro football,(Duluth Superior Shoremen, Superior Stampede, and a 4 year coach of junior league football.

Dave Kangas-Defensive Line Coach
Coach Kangas graduated in 1990 from Superior Senior High School. He played for Coach Mestelle on the state runner-up team and was a member of the 1989 Lake Superior Conference champions. Coach Kangas went on to play defensive line for Ted Thompson at UW-Superior.

Matt Grant-DB's
Coach Grant was a starting defensive back for the back-to-back state championship teams at Spring Valley High School in Wisconsin. He served as the defensive backs coach at Duluth East High School from 2003-2006.

Marty Schubitzke -- Vice-President/Business Operations
Mr. Schubitzke played two years of minor league football prior to founding the Stampede. He is a Duluth firefighter and is married with two children. Email: marty@stampedefootball.com
Terry Fawcett - Director of Operations
Mr. Fawcett played his college football at NAIA Division II Huron (SD) University, where was an All-SDIC defensive tackle, as well as voted the teams' Most Valuable Defensive Lineman & Most Valuable Defensive Player his senior season. Fawcett played two seasons (1995-1996) for the semi-pro Dakota Ruffians, where he was a two-time All-Star, as well as the teams' Most Valuable Defensive Player his second season.
Mr. Fawcett was the first semi-pro coach in the history of Duluth & Superior, having taken his four teams (2004-2007) to four straight playoff and four straight league semi-final appearances. His record was an impressive 31-15 (67 %). Mr. Fawcett is a Court & Field Services Supervisor for Arrowhead Regional Corrections. He & his family reside in Hermantown, Minnesota.

Joel Brekken - Vice-President/Treasurer
Coach Brekken is a 1993 graduate of UMD. He has been an assistant coach at Duluth East High School for the past 15 years. He was the offensive coordinator last season for his former minor league team. He is the owner/operator of Joel Brekken Agency of Farmers Insurance and Financial Services. Joel, his wife Mandy and their two children reside in Duluth, Minnesota.
Wally Kostich -- Board of Directors
Mr. Kostich has been a high school football coach for the past 19 years. The first 15 were as an assistant coach for Hibbing High School and the past four have been as the head coach for Mt. Iron-Buhl, where his teams have made the state tournament three of those years. Mr. Kostich is also a staff coach for the Matt Birk Football Camp in St. Paul. This camp is the largest staffed camp in the United States, with coaches coming from all over the U.S. and Canada. Coach Kostich had the pleasure of coaching Dallas Stars first round draft choice and former UMD Bulldog, Matt Niskanen.

Joseph Hietala -- Board of Directors
Mr. Hietala has been an educator and football coach for the past 20 years, and head coach at East for past five. Led Duluth East to first state tournament appearance in 2007. He was an assistant football coach at Duluth Central High School for 14 years, and has been the head football coach at Duluth East for the past four. His teams have won their conference in two of those years, and Coach Hietala has been named the conference coach of the year twice.

Gary Vitali -- Board of Directors
Mr. Vitale was the head football coach at Hibbing High School for over 20 years. He is an educator, and also serves as an age-group coordinator for the Matt Birk Football Camp, the largest football camp in the United States.
Jeff Papas -- iFan Play-by-Play
Jeff Papas begins his second year with the Stampede as the voice of the club on iFan.tv. He has covered Northland sports since 1988. A former sportscaster at KDLH and KBJR-TV, Jeff has 25 years' broadcast experience in Duluth and the Twin Cities. He has done radio play-by-play for the Duluth-Superior Dukes baseball team and has spent the last sixteen seasons as the television voice of the Cloquet Lumberjacks hockey team. He is also the stadium voice for the NCAA national champion UMD women's hockey team and is a sports columnist for two local newspapers
Stephanie B. Yrjo-Athletic Trainer
Stephanie is a 2006 graduate of the University Minnesota-Duluth. She began working for SMDC in December, 2006, and she is also the athletic trainer for Duluth Denfeld High School.
Eric Adams -- Web Monkey/"The Outlaw"
Eric's parents moved to the Duluth area when he was 4. He has lived in and around Duluth since 1979. He is a 1993 graduate of Proctor High School. Eric currently works at IBM in Rochester, Minnesota, as a Software Engineer. He has a wonderful wife and three beautiful kids, Carter(7), Sara(5), and Lily(1).
